VIENNA, VIRGINIA – MicroHealth, LLC, a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Disadvantaged Small Business that provides Healthcare Information Technology solutions, announced today that it has been appraised at Level 2 of the Carnegie Mellon University Software Engineering Institute’s Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) after only eight months after opening its doors. In order to reach this important milestone, MicroHealth completed a formal, organization-wide Standard Appraisal Method for Process Improvement (SCAMPI) Class A assessment, which was performed by SEI partner company, SysDevCo, Inc on August 27,2012.
CMMI is a process improvement approach that provides organizations with the essential elements of effective processes that ultimately improve their performance. An appraisal at maturity level 2 indicates the organization is performing at a “managed” level. At this level, projects have ensured that processes are planned and executed in accordance with policy; the projects employ skilled people who have adequate resources to produce controlled outputs; involve relevant stakeholders; are monitored, controlled, and reviewed; and are evaluated for adherence to their process descriptions.
The SEI is a U.S. Department of Defense federally funded research and development center operated by Carnegie Mellon University. The SEI helps organizations make measured improvements in their software engineering capabilities by providing technical leadership to advance the practice of software engineering. “This CMMI level II assessment is a real honor for MicroHealth,” said MicroHealth’s CEO Dr. Frank Tucker.“Collectively, our team has over 200 years of experience working in the Federal Healthcare Sector and this is a great indicator of where we are going in the future as a company. Uncompromising quality for better health outcomes.”
