Team MH’s Mixed Reality Simulation Shines at Innovation Day

Vienna, Virginia – MicroHealth, LLC joined forces with eight other companies to deliver a groundbreaking Mixed Reality Live Training Simulation at the Innovation Harvest Day. The event took place on July 18 at the University of Central Florida (UCF) Tech Grove, in partnership with the Defense Health Agency (DHA). 

Innovation Harvest Day provided an invaluable opportunity for small businesses in Florida to showcase innovative solutions in medical modeling, simulation, and training that the DHA may not be aware of. Central Florida is renowned as the hub of the military’s modeling, simulation, and training industry, with a presence of all the military services and many other defense entities including the Defense Health Agency Modeling & Simulation Office (DHA MSO). 

Team MicroHealth stood out at the event, demonstrating the power of integration and collaboration. The team included key players from MicroHealth, VARJO, GTI, Immersive Display Solutions, Real Response, BloodStone, Laerdal, and TacMed Solutions. 

The simulation, set up in a single morning, showcased mixed-reality capabilities that engaged not only sight and touch but also smell and sound. A high-fidelity manikin was used to further demonstrate advancements in mixed reality and how the solution can be configured to meet specific end-user needs. 

Additional key features included the ability to capture audio and video and the overall ruggedness of the solution, which is highly portable and resistant to dust and water. This ensures the solution can be deployed in various locations, both within the continental United States (CONUS) and outside the continental US (OCONUS), without the need for extensive construction or major site preparation.

His diverse background includes over nine years in Defense Acquisition with the Program Executive Office for Simulation, Training, and Instrumentation, and over 22 years of military service.
