MicroHealth, LLC Announces Approval of 8(a)

By Frank Tucker | Aug 15, 2015

Vienna, VA – August 7, 2015 – MicroHealth, LLC has been approved for the 8(a) Development Program. The 8(a) Business Development Program is a business assistance program for small disadvantaged businesses. It offers a broad scope of assistance to firms that are owned and controlled at least 51% by socially and economically disadvantaged individuals.

Participants can receive sole-source contracts up to $4 million for goods and services and $6.5 million for manufacturing. MicroHealth will now be able to form joint ventures and teams to bid on contracts. This enhances the company’s ability to perform with larger prime contracts and overcome the effects of contract bundling, the combining of two or more contracts together into one large contract.

“As an economically and socially disadvantaged business owner, I am very enthusiastic to have this opportunity and the assistance it provides,” Dr. Frank Tucker, CEO, said. “It was a rigorous process that offers our company an access to a wealth of business development services.”

Since the program helps thousands of aspiring entrepreneurs gain a foothold in government contracting, the company looks forward to new prospects.
